Learner Focused Training (LFT) grew out of a need to help Pasifika Apprentices enrolled in the National Certificate in Carpentry back in 2015. Being a Pasifika or Maori Carpentry Apprentice can sometimes be lonely and completion rates were comparatively low. LFT worked to create a relaxed, yet productive class (in-person) where we could share food, laughter, and on-site experiences and get great results.

Today, we provide online classes for Maori & Pasifika BCITO Apprentices that are still safe, fun and informative in a truly supportive and culturally appropriate environment . . . and the trainees continue to get excellent results.

Our online Carpentry Theory night classes are designed to help you gain knowledge to pass your BCITO theory/ knowledge assessments.

We offer 3 stages in 10-week blocks to cover all your theory topics (the same as the general classes).  Classes are held during the weekdays from 6pm-8pm using Zoom. You will need access to wifi and your own device.

Many of our trainees have moved on to become successful tradespeople, supervisors and business owners. These results and their stories make us proud to have played a small part in their carpentry journey.

BCITO has committed to offering the Maori and Pasifika LFT classes FREE of charge for 2024 to provide you with further support in your apprenticeship. Each 10-week block is normally $300 to attend! Pasifika Carpentry Class
