General Carpentry Classes

Our online General Carpentry night classes are for Carpentry Apprentices who want regular sessions to help them with their bookwork. They are designed to help you gain knowledge of all the topics essential for your carpentry career and to progress your BCITO theory/ knowledge assessments.
Our point of difference is that our classes are not only informative, but fun and supportive.
Our group classes are discussion-based and interactive. We share what we know and what we have seen and experienced on-site. We work through written questions together as a group, rather than sitting passively copying notes off a screen.
- We cover the main Carpentry theory topics required for your New Zealand Certificate over 3 x 10-week blocks.
- You can start with any stage (1, 2 or 3).
- Classes are held weekly, after work, from 6pm-7.30pm.

All classes are online using Zoom, so you can work from the comfort of your own home after a busy day at work. As we’re online, you can join in from anywhere across New Zealand.
You’ll need access to your own wifi, a computer/laptop and/or mobile to join in the class.
Attending the night classes doesn’t guarantee that you’ll pass an assessment, but people who’ve attended say that they’ve been a big help. Please check out the testimonials!
BCITO is committed to supporting you in your apprenticeship and will provide these classes for FREE this year. Each 10-week block is normally $300 to attend. So make sure you take advantage of this opportunity!
You can attend your first class, with no obligation, to see if it works for you. Don’t delay, register now.
Please note, we also have a Māori & Pasifika Carpentry option available that covers the same topics in a culturally supportive environment.
